Memory Zine Workshop – Sat 13 Sept
Memory Zine Workshop – Sat 13 Sept
MEMORY ZINE WORKSHOP | Sat 13 Sept, 10am–1 pm (UK time)
In this online workshop we’ll gather together to make small memory zines.
Do you have writing or material living in random places? Which doesn’t yet have a home, but which you’d like to honour and turn into something real?
Making a small scrappy zine is a super encouraging way to take stock on what you have written. Anything can be a memory:
Diary entries
Words squirrelled away in documents
Drafts
Emails to loved ones
Family stories
iPhone notes
Shopping lists
Short stories
Camera photos
Professional LinkedIn bio
Get experimental and turn what already exists into a small memory zine. A pocket-sized publication to make yourself feel good. Just because!
Zines are by nature scrappy and imperfect. We are embracing this liberating ethos to create cheaply, quickly & imperfectly.
In this 3 hour workshop, we will:
-Act on our desire to make something, without needing to feel completely ready
-Look at experimental books & publications made from existing material
-Gather what already exists from our own ‘archives’
-Edit, cut and collate it for clarity & length
-Lay it out in a simple zine template provided by me
-[Optional] print it out & staple on your home printer. No printer? Don’t worry, you can send me your design file as a PDF and I’ll print & send it to you. UK only, or we can discuss a small fee for international postage.
Maximum 10 participants.
Spots are non-refundable.
